Worn Ford steering wheel

I write regarding the issue reported with the Ford steering wheel in Carsguide (September 29). I have a 2003 BA Futura that I have driven from new, and the outer rim on the steering wheel was so badly worn after 140,000 km that the car failed a roadworthy when I bought it after the lease expired.
