Our 2011 Hyundai Accent has started making a noise like the front left-hand brake caliper was dragging on the disc. The dealer could not find a problem and blamed it on accumulated brake dust, even though there was no dust on the wheel trim. They cleaned it, but it made no difference and a second visit failed to make any improvement either. It is now worse. Maybe the caliper needs replacing?
I doubt the caliper needs replacing, but a closer inspection is probably warranted. Accumulated brake dust was a reasonable assessment on the dealer's part, even though you couldn't see any dust on the outside. I'd inspect it again, blow out any dust found, and check for stones caught in the caliper.
