I READ with interest the reader's problem with starting his Pajero (Carsguide, Jan 5) and your answer, which was spot on. I had a similar problem with my Nissan Pintara, and after consulting two mechanics and a fuel-injection specialist, an auto electrician found the problem was the fuel pressure regulator.
LOSS of fuel pressure is always a possible explanation when a car is difficult to start in hot weather, but several problem areas need to be checked.
