I purchased a Peugeot 308 turbo touring wagon in 2009 and for the first 18 months we only used it for school runs and other minor trips as my husband had a company car and we used that as much as possible. But since the Peugeot became our main car last year we have had a string of problems. Between Aug 2011 and Jan 2012 it was towed three times, had the transmission replaced, overheated, and the list goes on. We bought the car new and had it serviced at a Peugeot dealership until recently when we switched to a local mechanic with VACC accreditation, which was confirmed by our dealer as OK to protect the warranty. I lost confidence in the car a long time ago and have no faith in it getting me to work and back to collect children from school. I can no longer drive this car to work as I have been let down too many times. What do I do next with this car?
The answer lies with the dealer and the Peugeot distributor. Presumably the problems that have so far occurred have been fixed, so while you have lost confidence in the car you really can't predict what might happen in the future. If the problems haven't been fixed request a meeting with a senior manager at the dealership and have them give you a plan of attack that will see them fixed. Feel free to get Peugeot involved directly.
