Holden Astra 2001: Did the timing belt service interval change?

MY 2001 TS Holden Astra CD handbook clearly states that the engine toothed belt be changed at 120,000km, or eight-year, intervals, but I read that it should be changed at 60,000km. If so, does it mean Holden has failed to inform me of a change to the service interval?

THE handbook is out of date. Holden will have told dealers, who would take it into account when cars came in for their 60,000km service. Check your service records to see if it's been done.
