Mazda 6 MPS brakes wearing thin

I have just picked my 2005 Mazda 6 MPS up after its 60,000 km service and have been informed that the front brake pads and rotors will need replacing at the next scheduled service at a cost of around $800. This is obviously the cost of having a performance car, but one thing readers should consider.

Brake wear is something all new car buyers need to be aware of, and perhaps something they should quiz dealers about before they commit to a car. That way they won't be surprised when they get a hefty bill for replacing discs and pads sometime later on.
