Ford Fiesta 2012: Transmission problems

I've got a 2012 Ford Fiesta with massive transmission issues. It has 55,000 km and had the dual clutch recall allegedly done. I got it back and now the transmission feels and sounds like it has rocks in it and not fluid. I've made in excess of 20 calls to my dealer and Ford Australia Customer Service. The dealer has been ok, I realise they need authorisation to fix warranty/disputed issues, but Ford has been disgraceful, they never return calls! They wanted $590 one day to strip and diagnose the transmission, a day later it was $1100 and later that day it went to $2500-plus, then they wanted me to commit to paying. I refused believing it was a known problem that Ford had taken ownership of and were supposed to be committed to fixing. I have been without the car for three weeks and nothing has been done and no hint of a courtesy car as the TV ad says. I rang them on Jan 22 and there's been no call back, called again today and was told that my Case Manager was at lunch and he would call me back in 15 minutes, but still no call. The last I heard from the dealer was that they had sent Ford a quote for the repairs last week and they too had heard nothing. The Service Manager explained that they too had made 6 or more calls to Head Office and have had no reply. Can you tell me what I have to do because I'm at my wits end?

I can feel your frustration. It's bad enough that your car has a problem, it's worse when the car company doesn't appear to care. It would appear you have been treated very poorly. The issue needs to be sorted out with Ford, so keep calling until you get the response you want. You could also take it higher, to Ford's boss, Graeme Whickman, or you could consult a lawyer and send Ford a solicitor's letter demanding they take action to fix your car.
