Faulty Ford Fiesta

Asked by Tim

Twice in the last 12 months the engine in my 2004 WP Ford Fiesta has stuttered and lost power and revs, and the pedal has been unresponsive. The dashboard lights flash, and the 'EAC FAIL' light is displayed. Luckily both times have been on back streets, but if this happened when overtaking or something there could be a safety concern. Is it a known fault? What could I do about it?

It could be a number of problems; you need to have a mechanic run a diagnostic check to determine what's causing the warning light to come on.
