Falcon's big brake

AFTER driving six new Falcons during the past eight to nine years at 70,000km a year, my latest Falcon, a 2004 BA XR6, is by far the best. Before that I thought the EB II was one of the better models. When I changed from an SR AUIII to the XR6 I quickly noticed the steering was heavier and more direct, possibly due to the smaller steering wheel, larger tyres and maybe different steering ratios. I also noticed the brakes needed more pressure than the SR AUIII. Another work colleague has a similar vehicle (late 2003 XR6) and agreed they were different from his car as well. I had the dealer check the brakes and the feedback was the brake discs and pads have been altered to help stop the brake shuddering that some of my past Falcons had experienced. Is this correct or should I ask them to take another look? Other standard Falcon BAs I have driven feel much the same as my AUIII but are 2003 models.
