Ford Falcon: Won't start on gas

SOON after buying my BF II Ford Falcon new I had a dual-fuel system fitted. While it runs fine on gas, it refuses to start, or if it does start, it runs poorly and then stops. I have to start it on petrol and get it up to 1500 revs minimum before it will run on gas. Have you heard of any other Falcon owners with the same problems, or do you have any ideas, my mechanic is baffled?

You don't say which type of system you are running, but I will assume it's an old vapour/mixer system as modern injection systems all start on petrol and only switch over the LPG once the engine is warmed up enough to run on it. If your mechanic doesn't know what it wrong with it get him to call the manufacturer of the system and enlist their help, or take it to an LPG system specialist.
