Ford Falcon 2003: Broken door actuators

I purchased a 2003 Ford Falcon in 2007 and have since had three door actuators malfunction. The driver's side rear door was the first, which I fixed some time ago at my own expense. Next was the actuator on the driver's side front door, which I have not yet fixed and have been locking manually with the ignition key. Then recently the front passenger's side door actuator malfunctioned. I contacted the Ford dealership, but they told me that because the vehicle has not been serviced by them and is out of warranty there is nothing they can do. I mentioned to them that it looks like a manufacturing fault and/or inferior parts as it would seem highly unusual for three door actuators to go over this short period of time, but they denied there was any fault with the vehicle and said this was normal wear and tear. Do I have any grounds to pursue this matter further?

It's a problem that crops up occasionally on Falcons of that era, but your car is now eight years old, the warranty has run out, and you bought it secondhand, so the chance of getting any compensation is very slim. Because of the number of failures you have experienced you could try your luck under the consumer affairs laws, claiming that the vehicle was unfit for the purpose for which it was sold to you.
