Nissan X-Trail: Does it have CVT issues?

My 2016 Nissan X-Trail car is starting to surge when being driven with small changes in revs, but no change in speed.

My Nissan dealer doesn't know what is wrong and can offer no help. Will it get worse and can it be fixed? It has done 14,000 km.

It’s impossible to know if it will get worse, all you can do is closely monitor it and keep a record of what you observe. I’m tempted to believe that there’s nothing wrong with it, that it’s just the CVT transmission doing its thing.
