OUR 2003 BA Falcon station wagon has done 130,000km and the diff is very noisy. My Ford dealership tells me the carrier bearings are gone. It will replace the diff for $2400, but could I do the job myself? I'm told many of these diffs in Holdens and Fords are faulty. Is this true?
WE'VE had complaints about the diff in the Holden, but not nearly so many from Ford owners. You probably could do the job if you're handy with tools, but if you're not, I wouldn't tackle it.
