Toyota RAV4 1999: Use-by date?

An unusual question: is there a "use-by date" for cars? And when should you update a car? I have a 1999 three-door Toyota RAV4 that I bought new. It's done 141,000km, is regularly serviced and maintained and I have never had any problems. I am a 62-year-old single woman, approaching retirement. I occasionally do look at what cars are around but none really grabs me.

There is no such thing as a use-by date but my personal cut-off is 160,000km. Lots of cars run happily for much longer, and I have a friend with an immaculate old Honda Accord close to 800,000km. Before running into big expenses it seems like the right time to be moving to something younger.
