It’s common industry practice today to fill auto transmissions with oil for “life” in production, but what does that mean. Is it the life of the car, the life of the transmission, or what? It’s a good idea to change the fluid regularly, particularly if you’re working the car hard or towing. Auto transmission specialists recommend changing the auto trans fluid every 25,000 km if you’re towing, a little more if you not. A service fill is about two litres, a dry fill is about 10 litres, and most use 95LE, but it’s worth checking with a local auto trans specialist.
