AFTER twice suffering front brake hose failures on my 2005 Ford Territory a rear brake recently failed at 125,000km. It wasn't as scary as the front brake hoses were, but it was still an unpleasant experience. Ford was extremely unsympathetic and refused any assistance. The dealer says he has seen a few rears fail now and wondered ``why Ford had not replaced all four hoses at the recall''. Is this another front hose time bomb all over again for Territory owners? Should I replace both rear hoses? The dealer says the other hose looks OK.
WE HAVE had some reports of rear brake hose failures and also wondered why Ford only recalled the Territory to replace the front hoses. We can't say that it's as serious as the front brake hose failures turned out to be, so we will watch with interest to see how it develops. I wouldn't hesitate: replace both hoses.
