2009 Ford Territory whistling sound

There is a whistling sound coming from the engine in my 2009 Ford Territory. We can't hear it from the front of the car, we hear it more from the sides. It's really annoying. Could you tell us what is causing it?

From what you describe you should be able to hear it if you lift the bonnet and from that you should be able to isolate it to a particular part of the car. If you can do that you can fix it. Take it to a mechanic.
