Peter grew up in a house in Western Sydney where automotive passion extended to white Sigmas and Magnas. At school he discovered "those" magazines that weren't to be found in the house. Magazines that offered him the chance to sit in the driver's seat of cars he’d never even heard of let alone seen. His path to rebellion was set - he would love cars, know cars and want to write about cars, much to his family’s disgust. They wanted him to be a teacher. He bought a series of terrible cars and lusted after Ford Escort Cosworths, the Alfa Romeo 164 Q and occasionally kicked himself for selling his 1977 Alfa GTV. From 1.0-litre three cylinders to roaring V12s, Peter has driven them all and can't wait to tell you all about it.

Fun, Toyota, and hybrid are not words you often see together. Even two out of those three aren't obvious sentence-fellows. The Japanese giant spends a lot of money to convince us its cars are fun (and an equal amount telling us that daggy dads buy them) but as new cars roll on to dealer forecourts...Read more

The world is chock-a-block with enduring mysteries. The Loch Ness Monster, people who consider Taylor Swift's anodyne pop 'classic' material and the eternal descent of global politics. To that I will add (perhaps unkindly), the Mitsubishi ASX . It's old - very old - and competes in a market full of...Read more
As if taking inspiration from the Three Wise Men (seasonal reference for you there), Hyundai has three wise choices for those wishing to dip their toes, so to speak, in the world of electric cars. Eighteen months ago, Hyundai had no electric vehicles on sale. Zip. Zero. Nada. A month ago they had four - three Ioniqs and the Kona EV. Okay, "only" three of them can run purely on electricity only, with the cheapest Ioniq operating as a Prius-style series hybrid. It's been a busy year for...Read more
