Peter grew up in a house in Western Sydney where automotive passion extended to white Sigmas and Magnas. At school he discovered "those" magazines that weren't to be found in the house. Magazines that offered him the chance to sit in the driver's seat of cars he’d never even heard of let alone seen. His path to rebellion was set - he would love cars, know cars and want to write about cars, much to his family’s disgust. They wanted him to be a teacher. He bought a series of terrible cars and lusted after Ford Escort Cosworths, the Alfa Romeo 164 Q and occasionally kicked himself for selling his 1977 Alfa GTV. From 1.0-litre three cylinders to roaring V12s, Peter has driven them all and can't wait to tell you all about it.

Citroen C3 2019 review
By Peter Anderson · 14 Jun 2019
Really small cars aren't what they used to be, and there are a number of reasons for that. The first is that, compared to five years ago, nobody buys them. The world of small hatchbacks is a shadow of its former self, mostly because there's so much money sloshing around in Australia that we buy a class up and often an SUV rather hatch. As usual, Citroen is taking the path less travelled. There's no getting away from the fact that the C3 hatch has always been an a brave choice - there are still a few of the original, arch-roofed version kicking around, a car I was very fond of, despite it not being very good. For 2019 Citroen has addressed a couple of glaring issues with the C3, namely a lack of safety gear that contributed to a four-star ANCAP safety rating and a couple of little dramas that marred an otherwise impressive package.

By Peter Anderson · 21 May 2019
Toyota's Prius changed the game before we even knew what the game was. Now in its 20s and with a bunch of competitors from its own nameplate, let alone Korean challengers, the hybrid's relevance is in question.

BMW X2 2019 review: M35i
By Peter Anderson · 07 May 2019
Australia hasn't drawn the BMW X2 to its SUV-buying bosom. The M35i is late to the performance SUV party, but to make up for it, it's cheap(er than some of its main rivals). But is it good?

Mazda CX-8 Sport 2WD 2019 review
By Peter Anderson · 06 May 2019
The CX-8s is shoe-horned between Mazda's all-conquering CX-5 and its stylish CX-9. It's a bit smaller than the brand's largest SUV, but still manages to carry up to seven in comfort. Only catch is that it has to be a diesel.

Jaguar F-Pace 2019 review: Prestige 25t
By Peter Anderson · 09 Apr 2019
Jaguar's F-Pace got off to an excitable start when it launched a few years back. Now it's got JLR's own four-cylinder engines and even comes with two-wheel drive. And you might not know that it starts at less than eighty-grand.
