By Tim Nicholson · 16 May 2023
Porsche recently celebrated 20 years of the Cayenne. It's the model that transformed the brand and continues to be its golden goose - alongside the smaller Macan SUV.But the electric age is calling so this third-generation mid-life update could be the final petrol-powered Cayenne. By Stephen Ottley · 15 May 2023
Mercedes-Benz has been building cars for longer than anyone else, but as it expands its electric portfolio it runs the risk of alienating its existing customers. Mercedes-Benz EQE300 Sedan 2023 review: snapshot
By Stephen Ottley · 13 May 2023
In the absence of the Tesla Model S the Mercedes-Benz EQE300 is a promising alternative. It offers the same blend of space, performance and electric efficiency as the Model S once did, before it disappeared from local showrooms in 2020.The EQE 300 is priced from $134,900 (excluding on-road costs) and comes well equipped with Mercedes' latest MBUX multimedia system, a Burmester 3D surround sound system, smartphone integration for Apple and Android devices and wireless charging, heated seats and a panoramic sliding sunroof all standard. It’s also fitted with AMG Line interior and exterior packages, which include sports-style seats, a multifunction sports steering wheel in Nappa leather and AMG floor mats. Externally there are 20-inch alloy wheels and an ‘AMG-inspired’ body styling package that includes a tiny three-pointed star repeating pattern on the ‘grille’ panel. It’s powered by a single, rear-mounted motor that makes 180kW/550Nm and the 90kW/h battery provides a respectable range of 508km on a single charge. Energy use is rated at 16.3kWh/100km and the EQE 300 can take an 11kW AC or 170kW DC charge via its Type CCS plug.It may be the ‘entry-level’ model in the range but the EQE 300 gets the same key safety features as the rest of the line-up. That means 10 airbags, a 360-degree parking camera, Active Parking Assist and Traffic Sign Assist, plus all the modern active safety features, including Active Distance Assist Distronic, Active Lane Change Assist and more. The EQE 300 is a spacious sedan, with generous room in both seating rows. This is largely thanks to the longer wheelbase of the EV2 platform that underpins the EQE, which allows for an extra 80mm of interior space. In other words, the EQE 300 should meet the requirements of anyone looking for an alternative to the Tesla Model S while it remains unavailable, while also having plenty of appeal in its own right.

By Emily Agar · 06 May 2023
The 3 Series sedan was often the entry to the brand for first time BMW owners and for good reason. They offered practical interior space without compromising on engine performance. So, how does the 'entry' BMW 320i M Sport live up to its long-standing reputation?

Lexus LX 2023 review: 500d seven-seat - off-road test
By Marcus Craft · 03 May 2023
The Lexus LX500d is the base-spec variant in the Lexus LX range, however this seven-seater is anything but entry-level in what it offers. And it has a circa-$150,000 price tag to match its bulging features list. So, does this supremely refined, plush and feature-packed urban-friendly vehicle make sense as a family-moving daily driver? More importantly, is it an effective off-road tourer?

By Tung Nguyen · 02 May 2023
The electric age is coming for all, and even Lamborghini can't escape the impending march to hybridisation or full electrification. But before that happens, the Italian supercar brand is sending off its Hurcan with the hardcore STO, sporting a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 and enough aero to make even the Porsche 911 GT3 RS scared.

Porsche 718 2023 review: Cayman GT4 RS
By Laura Berry · 20 Apr 2023
The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS was never meant to happen, but this 'Franken-Cayman' is alive with the beating heart of a 911 GT3 - the howling 4.0-litre flat-six, making 500 horsepower and pushing you to a top speed of 315km/h. There are lots of questions, and we've answered them all for you, but there's one you need to ask yourself: could you live with this beast?

Lexus ES 2023 review: 300h Sports Luxury
By Byron Mathioudakis · 21 Mar 2023
Now one of only two sedans Lexus offers, the ES replaces both the smaller IS as well as the larger GS. The latter were both rear-wheel drive, but the ES is front-drive, using a stretched Toyota Camry architecture. Launched in 2018 but updated in 2021, the ES 300h facelift boasts heaps of metal for the money, along with hybrid tech and a full list of standard features. But is it premium enough?
