Rather than joining the plethora of superficial sticker-pack-enhanced utes, Toyota's new HiLux Rugged X comes standard with a snorkel, hoop-less steel bullbar, substantial underbody protection bash plate, front and rear recovery points, heavy-duty front springs, and steel side steps with built-in rock-sliders. So, all stuff that's actually useful in the real world.

Toyota's Prado is not the most exciting vehicle in the brand's 4WD stable, but it's certainly one of the best all-round quiet achievers in that mob. The new Prado has more power and torque, a bigger multimedia screen, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
