I haven't heard of any problem in getting LRP in your area, but I will check with the fuel companies. The engine in your Toyota should have valve seat inserts which means you could simply switch to ULP without the need to use an additive. PULP would be a waste of money in your car when it will run happily on regular unleaded.
I assume the VH Commodore is a six, which was a new updated XT6 version of the venerable pushrod Holden six. While it was improved over the previous versions of the engine it was still quite inefficient even by 1982 standards. The Trimatic three-speed should have plenty of life left in it, but check the oil and make sure it's nice and red. Also make sure the shifts are smooth and precise with no sign of flaring on part or full throttle. Check the body for rust, particularly in the lower sections of the front guards, the lower sections of the doors, around the rear side windows and around the tail gate and rear window. The Camry has lots of life left in it, but it is near the mileage where major servicing could be needed. The Camry is most likely to be in better condition overall than the Commodore, which can be expected to be riddled with squeaks and rattles in the body.
I would have unloaded that car a long time ago rather than put up with the frustration, and the danger, of driving a car that stalls. As for the problem, you have clearly replaced most things that could contribute to the problem. My guess is that it is a fuel-supply problem or a fuel- mixture problem. I would have the fuel pump checked, check also for fuel blockages in filters, including the filter on the fuel pickup in the tank, and check the carburettor to make sure it is adjusted correctly, particularly the float level. Finally, check for air or vacuum leaks that might make the engine run lean.
The Commodore will need an upper cylinder lubricant added to the fuel if you run it on ULP. The Toyota should happily run on ULP without any additional lubrication.
There were reports from Western Australia of a build-up of deposits on the spark plugs of engines running on LRP and which were driven only short distances. The deposit was blamed for poor starting and running, so it's worth checking your plugs for abnormal build-up of deposits. Clean the plugs before reinstalling them in the engine. If there is an unusual build-up that could be causing the problem, consider changing to a higher heat range spark plug that would help burn off the deposits. While there is a chance the problem is caused by the LRP you use, it's more likely to be a problem with the engine itself, so check the carburettor to ensure the automatic choke is operating correctly, and check the ignition timing, points and set them to specification. Also check for signs of intake manifold leakage.
Both are decent people movers. The Toyota Tarago was one of the first purpose-designed people movers, rather than a converted van, and as a result it had refined road manners more like a regular passenger car than a commercial vehicle. The Tarago's 2.4-litre, fuel-injected four-cylinder motor is adequate, but running it on LPG would take the edge off its performance. The Mitsubishi Starwagon also had decent road manners, but was based on a van. Its base engine was a 2.0-litre four and I would avoid that one. The optional 2.4-litre fuel-injected four is a better choice. My choice would be the Tarago, and you should be able to find a 1990-1994 model for $15,000.
The answer you'd get from the trade is that it's worth about $8000. But it sounds like a gem that might be worth more than the average '87 Supra. With such low mileage it should be in good overall condition. I would think it is worth up to $10,000.
SOUNDS as if you've got a problem with timing. Go back to basics of spark and fuel. If you've got both, in the right quantity, and at the right time it should run. Check the ignition timing and make sure its set correctly to specification, then check the ignition points and make sure they are clean and correctly set.
