    The Crown was a well-built, reliable car in its day, but you’re buying an old car so you should expect to have problems due to age and presumably high kilometres. The best thing to do is to contact a Toyota club and ask them for advice. They are the experts and should be able to help you.

    NEWSPAPER classifieds and websites are the most common ways to sell cars, but yours is a little unusual and will probably take more time and effort. Try to aim at people you think might have a specific interest. Make direct contact with Toyota car clubs and advertise in classic car magazines.

    Kit for power

    I ASSUME you have a sentimental attachment to your car, because the best advice is to update to a later model, perhaps a smaller car which will have power steering and be much more manageable than the old Crown. To add power steering to your Crown will cost $1000-$1500. If you want to do it, call early Toyota specialist CCC Auto Salvage on 9543 1433.
