Mazda Australia has recalled 7,443 CX-5 SUVs that may not light up as intended.
Affecting MY14-MY15 KE-series examples sold from January 28, 2015 to October 31, 2016, the recall involves the CX-5’s daytime running lights (DRLs), which might flicker or fail to illuminate while driving.
If the DRLs do not function properly, the vehicle may come less conspicuous in traffic, increasing the risk of an accident and therefore injury to vehicle occupants and other road users.
Impacted owners will be contacted by Mazda Australia when replacement parts become available next month.
At this time, they will be instructed to book their vehicles in for an inspection at their preferred authorised service centre. If required, a free-of-charge repair will then be completed.
