Great Wall gets new look

The makeover could play a part in the Chinese vehicle maker smartening up its Australian presentation.

The most successful Chinese import, with almost 3000 sales in the first three months of this year, showed off a new Volkswagen Amarok-look nose at last month's Beijing motor show.

The effect is a pleasant transformation from the current simple but dated nose worn on the Great Wall V240 dual-cab ute.

But spokesman for importer Ateco, Daniel Cotterill, says the final decision on Australia picking up the fresh look has yet to be made.

"If it was to come here it would not be for 18 months or so," he says. The new look was shown at the Beijing motor show along with variations on the V240 ute and X240 wagon theme.
