With 50 days to go until the doors officially open at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre for the 2012 Australian International Motor Show, the stage has been set for one of the biggest Motor Shows yet.

The 2012 Australian International Motor Show will host some of the biggest reveals in the world, with at least one global debut, two Southern Hemisphere debuts and one Oceanic debut confirmed - with many more to be announced in the coming weeks.

“In the last week alone, we have been able to reveal that Lexus will be unveiling a hybrid coupe concept vehicle to the world, with Jaguar also taking the covers off its brand-new F-TYPE sports car and Land Rover debuting the all-new Range Rover for the first time in our Hemisphere,” said Russ Tyrie, Show Director.

“Lamborghini will also unveil the Gallardo LP550-2 Spyder in its Oceanic debut and we also have Ford Performance Vehicles displaying the fastest locally built Ford Falcon ever, in the GT RSPEC. “With over six weeks to go until the Show, there is still plenty of news to be shared; however we are respecting the manufacturer’s wishes and the embargoes they have in place.

“We can confirm though that both local and international manufacturers have exciting reveals and activities planned and these factors combined with the positive response we’ve had so far in early bird ticket sales and in media coverage demonstrates a great buzz already about this year’s Show.”

Almost 95 per cent of all new cars sold in Australia this year will be represented at the 2012 Australian International Motor Show, with 27 brands confirmed to exhibit their current, future and in some instances, concept range of vehicles.

Two new manufacturers will be making their Australian International Motor Show debuts, with Opel and Infiniti taking the stage, as part of their launch strategy into the local automotive market. “While some manufacturers will not be represented at this year’s Show, we believe that their decision is not a reflection of the value and importance they place on the Show.

“We are confident that a number of these brands will most certainly be represented at future Australian International Motor Shows.” The 2012 Australian International Motor Show will also have additional exhibits to impress and entertain visitors including Rosco McGlashan, the fastest Aussie on Earth, and an amazing never-before-seen concept vehicle from Woods & Woods with further announcements to be made shortly.

The 2012 Australian International Motor Show will be held at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour from October 19-28, 2012. For further information about the Show and to purchase tickets, visit www.motorshow.com.au, which is also compatible with all android and Apple mobile devices.
