What is a pro-forma invoice?

I want to buy a car to export to India, but Customs are asking me for a pro-forma invoice from the dealership. How do you arrange that?

If you are buying the car from a dealer they will be able to give you the invoice you require, it's really a document showing you as the owner and where you bought it.
