I AM unhappy with the noise in my Ford Focus on coarse road surfaces. I am told better tyres will fix it, but no one says what those tyres are. When I ask a tyre dealer they always recommend the brand they sell. I want to replace the Goodyear 215/60/R16 tyres, but I don't know what I should buy.

OUR tyre specialists recommend you try Michelin's new XM1-plus, which is available in the size you require. They tell me it's a much quieter tyre and there's no loss of grip or ride quality.
