Sluggish in the cold

I have a 1997 Hyundai Coupe FX, which I have owned since new. I have always serviced it in accordance with the manufacturer's handbook schedule. It has done 105,000km and is running very well with no problems, except that whenever the car is very cold it feels like the auto transmission is sluggish and doesn't want to shift up. When it does shift, it is jerky. As the car warms up the problem disappears. I've reported this to Hyundai's service department, but diagnostics don't identify any problem. Can you suggest what this may be and what is required to fix it?

Hyundai recommend changing the auto trans oil at 90,000km intervals and to use Hyundai's recommended ATF SP III trans oil. As your car has gone past that mileage, I would make sure it is serviced and the oil has been changed using the correct oil.
