Toyota Corolla: Service costs

The inclusion of capped service costs at $130 for the first six 10,000 km services was an incentive when I bought a new Corolla six months ago, but I now find that, except for the 40,000 km service, the handbook shows the only actual work undertaken is replacement of engine oil and filter and a clean of the air-conditioning filter. A number of items are listed for inspection, which one assumes are unlikely to cause any concern in a new car. Is the work done good value for money?

If you look at the servicing costs individually they might seem expensive, but if you consider that you're getting your car serviced for the first 60,000 km, which could be up to three years, for $780 in total. That would appear to be reasonable value.
