Remove tree sap from car exterior

Tree sap – especially resinous sap – is not an easy job after it’s hardened. First wash the area thoroughly to get rid of any dirt or dust that could scratch, then lay some bug and tar remover over the sap, cover it with cling wrap and leave it for a while to soften the sap. Then remove as much as you can gently with a cloth, moving only in one direction (wiping in circles will just spread it) and ‘picking it up’ as you go. It’s a matter of repeating that until it’s all gone. You’ll then need to re-wax that area.
