WE BOUGHT a new Ford XR6 Turbo a few years ago and it has developed ``orange peel'' in the paint. A spray painter friend could not believe the paint could be so bad on a new car. Ford suggested we take it to our dealer. They agreed it was a bad paint job and took photos to send to Ford. When Ford called us back they said they didn't believe it was a bad job and it met all their specifications and they would not do anything about it. Unhappy, I rang Ford again and was told to go back to the dealer, which I did and they took more photos and sent in another complaint. They rejected my claim again. Should I take this matter further or am I wasting my time.
YOU'VE certainly had the runaround. Paint quality is a subjective thing. One person will think it's bad. Another will reckon it's fine. Take it to an independent paint specialist and ask them to give you a report on it.
