Nissan Patrol 2002: Is it a good buy?

I AM looking at a 2002 3.0-litre turbodiesel Nissan Patrol. It is in excellent condition with 76,000km on it, but a friend told me something about the engines in these cars blowing pistons.

THE 3.0-litre turbodiesel Patrol is regarded in some quarters as a grenade waiting to go off. I would steer away from them.
