Old tyre date

The code on the "new tyres" I have just bought indicate that they were made in the 43rd week of 2008, that's earlier than my car. Are they ok, or have I been taken for a ride?

It's not unusual to find tyres that old, and older, and providing they have been stored ok and not exposed to sunlight or excess heat, there's no reason to believe you should have a problem with them.
