THE clutch in my 2002 3.0-litre TDi Nissan Patrol failed after 47,000km. We bought it new and it's had no four-wheel-drive use other than on a farm track, nor has it towed any real weight farther than 100m. Has Nissan been known to replace them?

THE factory clutch is a bit marginal and usually starts to shudder before actually failing. Most people replace it with a heavier-duty aftermarket clutch, which seems to last much longer than the original.
