I OWN a 2003 BA Falcon that has done 40,000km but has already had the brake rotors machined six times each and is on its third set of front pads. The last time the brakes were done the shudder returned at 1500km. When I took it back to the dealer and insisted that something be done, I was told Ford had identified an ``issue'' with the brakes and they were awaiting release of new brake pads with a specific compound that would rectify the issue.
FORD has confirmed there is a fix being rolled out now. We were told that though some BA Falcons can be rectified by machining the rotors, new brake pads have been issued as a solution for those few vehicles that still have the problem after machining. Contact your dealer and have yours updated.
