I READ Stephen Brittain's recent letter about his BA Falcon's brakes with interest because my experience is similar. I bought my car in 2003 and have had a problem with squealing, shuddering brakes and malfunctioning hand brake ever since. This has become an issue as it appears that my dealer wasn't able to fix the problem. The brakes are squealing and the hand brake is not working again. If an after-market service/upgrade is available, shouldn't Ford be paying for it?
I DON'T believe there is an upgrade at the moment. Stephen Brittain is having some success by keeping the pressure on Ford to do something about his car. I can only suggest you do the same. Contact Ford customer assistance and ask them to step in and help the dealer fix the problem.
