I HAVE received conflicting advice from two Toyota dealers about the replacement of timing belts on my 2000 Echo. One dealer quoted ``replacement of the toothed timing belt'', another said the model has a timing chain and replacement was not part of the maintenance schedule.
THE second dealer was correct. The Echo has a timing chain, not a belt, and it doesn't need to be replaced.
