Different tyre treads

TYRE makers vary their designs over time. Damaging one tyre and seeking a replacement sometimes means you cannot get the exact tyre. Can I run similar tyres, but with different tread patterns?

IT'S BEST to run tyres that not only are the same size and have the same speed and load rating, but also the same tread pattern. If makers change the tread pattern you could put the replacement tyre on the spare, and use the original spare on a road wheel.
