Clutches are a consumable item

Why don't you tell the truth about clutches? Clutches are put into cars/trucks to be there for the life of the car, they should never wear out. It's the driver that slips the clutch that generates the excessive heat, which in turn destroys the spring clamping ability of the pressure plate and the clutch starts slipping.

Clutches do wear out in the normal course of events, they always have and always will, so to say they should last the life of the vehicle is fantasy. Riding the clutch does reduce the life of the clutch and should be avoided, but to say that it is the sole cause of the reduced clutch life we are now seeing is wrong. It might explain some of it, but it is not the only reason.
