Toyota Camry 2010: Hybrid globes failing

After we contacted you about the problems we have been experiencing with both of our Toyota Camry Hybrid taxis, Toyota sent up an electronics technician who removed all light globes, front and back, from both cars and fitted genuine globes along with two monitors, one for the low and high beams, and the second for the park globes. They then connected a computer up to the system and took the cars for a test drive to check for any spikes coming from the taxi equipment we installed, none were found. So far, after three and a half weeks no globes have blown. Before these tests I had fitted Philips 50 percent more output globes and they seemed to be the best of all the globes tried, including the original genuine ones. Between April and September last year I replaced six low beam, four high beam, six park globes and three rear number plate globes. Hopefully the monitors may pick up something when the next ones blow.

Good to see Toyota taking an interest in their products when a problem crops up, and hopefully you will find what's causing the globe failures. Keep us informed on the progress, it could help other owners should they hit the same snag.
