Bumper drop

I was going to buy an EB, EB II or ED series Fairmont Ghia, but common sense drove me to get an AU series instead. The EB and ED Fairmont Ghia are still great cars, but I am curious as to what Ford did about the quite obvious problem with the Falcon bumper sections falling off. I see them all the time.
