Toyota Camry 1999: Boring but reliable

You recently wrote in Roadside Assist about a Toyota Camry and have to say, from experience, I agree with your verdict. I drive a 1999 Toyota Camry V6 Conquest which has done 514,000km and still goes well and drives very nicely. Instead of describing it as being "as exciting as a new fridge", I like to describe it as being "boringly reliable". Some years ago I picked up this expression from a motoring commentator writing for a Belgian newspaper, who said this in reference to Japanese cars.

Boring and reliable works for me and tens of thousands of happy Camry owners obviously concur.
