Automatic transmissions in Italy?

I am going to Italy later this year with a view to settling there and I was hoping you could find out if there are any automatic-transmissioned cars sold over there. I've been told only manual transmission cars are sold but would like to have this confirmed. I obtained my licence in a manual car nearly 40 years ago but have driven an automatic ever since.
