Ask Smithy Xtra Focus Cabrio chewing tyres

I bought a 2007 Ford Focus Cabriolet in 2008 with 19,000 km on it. It has now done 52,000 km and in that time has chewed up 3.5 sets of tyres. I travel 1000 km a week on sealed country and sit on 115 km/h. What do you recommend I should do in relation to the tyres?

I doubt it’s the tyres that are the problem; I would be looking at the car itself for the problem. Start by having it wheel aligned, and while you’re at it just check that it is tracking straight. Is it possible that it had been crashed before you bought it?
