The BYD T3 was first launched in 2014 as one of the brand’s early electric light commercial vans. Built on a compact platform, it was designed for urban deliveries with zero tailpipe emissions. The T3 gained attention in China for its practicality and simple layout, helping BYD establish a foothold in the growing electric van market.
Through the late 2010s the BYD T3 expanded into export markets, often positioned as an affordable alternative to traditional diesel vans. It was also marketed under different names, including the e6 Van in some regions, though it remained based on the same drivetrain and battery technology as BYD’s passenger EVs. Range and charging improvements were introduced over time to keep pace with demand from fleet buyers.
Today the BYD T3 continues as a small electric van option in markets such as Australia, Europe and Asia. It serves last-mile delivery businesses, rideshare operators and government fleets looking for lower running costs. The T3 now plays a role as an entry point into BYD’s wider electric commercial vehicle range.
The line-up currently starts at $30,030 for the T3 Vbegen2 and ranges through to $36,190 for the range-topping T3 Vbegen2.
