As the Audi A4 badge goes electric for now, the A5 becomes its spiritual successor. The Audi A5 has just landed in Australia in Sedan or Avant wagon form, and there's a fast S5 version too. We sampled them all during the winter launch in Victoria to find out how it stacks up.

You always knew Audi made great looking cars, and the new A5 Sportback now has more modern technology to go with its stylish design. But does it work for a family?

The most expensive model in the current A5 range is the Cabriolet 45 TFSI quattro S line, which will set you back $93,400. 

The A5 Sportback 45 TFSI quattro S line might now have the most accomodating nomenclature, but it is among the most appealing variants in the A5 family, owing to its more powerful engine and blend of practicality and polish. 

A little like the A5 Sportback, only with two less doors, the A5 Coupé 45 TFSI quattro S line cuts a fine figure on the road, and most has the go to match the show.

The Sportback 40 TFSI S line acts as the entry point to the A5 range, and will set you back $71,900.

The same probably can’t be said for the A5 Sportback 45 TFSI quattro S tronic S Line, which came to live with the Berry family.Yup, the A5 Sportback 45 TFSI quattro S tronic S Line has an overly fussy name, so what exactly is the car that’s hiding behind all those made-up words?For the sake of this review I’m going to shorten the name to A5 Sportback 45 TFSI – kind of like Dick Berry, only not as hilarious.
