Volvo's V40 five-door, five-seat hatch was born in 2012, after the brand emerged from Ford ownership and into the arms of Chinese industrial giant Geely.
It forms the entry-point to the still-Swedish made brand, and the range now includes a higher-riding Cross Country model.
Engine choices include four-cylinder diesel and petrol 2.0-litre engines starting from the POA V40 D2 Momentum, along with a five-cylinder turbo petrol unit under the bonnet of the POA V40 D2 Momentum. A much-vaunted all-wheel drive twin-turbo 2.0-litre version known as the Polestar was mooted in 2014, but it hasn't been heard of since.
