You are assuming the blown head gasket is related to the previous cooling system failure, but you don't know that to be the case. Until you know the cause of the problem you can't mount a case against Toyota. Once you have established the cause of the head gasket failure you can then decide on whether it's best to approach Toyota.
Check the PCV valve, if it’s leaking it could cause a weakness at idle that would result in the stalling you speak of.
From your description it would seem that the battery is not the problem, and because the light is flashing on and off, I would be looking for a loose connection.
You can use both fuels with safety in both cars. You should get better economy by using the better fuel, but I would suggest that you try 95 before trying 98 because it costs less up front.
It depends on how long you plan to keep the car and its condition. If it is in good condition and you plan to keep it for four to five years minimum then it could be a worthwhile thing to do, but if it's not in great shape and you don't plan to keep it then it certainly wouldn't be worth it. The problem is that it is an old car and you can't predict what problems you might have in the near future. I wouldn't do it.
The four-cylinder Camry can be successfully converted to run on LPG. Use a sequential vapour injection system from a recognized brand and you won’t go wrong.
Your car as the 2.2-litre four-cylinder engine, which can be converted to run on LPG with confidence, and there are kits available for it. It can also use 98-octane unleaded petrol, and Toyota says it can also use E10.
There are two schools of thought here. One is that by regularly cleaning the injectors you will avoid trouble if they clog up, the other is that it's the dealer selling you an unnecessary service to make more on the car service. I tend to go along with the latter.

The LPG experts at Impco told us that there could be a number of causes of your problem. It could be the result of miss-matched technology that if poorly integrated may cause the petrol system to learn incorrect values while operating on LPG, leading to hesitation on ULP start up. It could also be insufficient valve clearances, which may also cause the car to run poorly during the warm up phase. Another possibility is that it's an electrical misfire, either a fault with the secondary ignition system or an intermittent wiring harness issue.
