I AM considering selling my 1994 Holden Rodeo 2600 EFI Deluxe which has 186,000km on the clock, is in good nick and has been nothing short of faithful. I estimate it's worth $4000 as is, but wonder if it will be more saleable if I take the LPG rebate and fit a dual-fuel system.

I WOULD like to trade my Daewoo Tacuma in on a new Mazda3, but I have no idea what it might be worth. It's a 2001 model with 22,000km on the clock, it has been serviced by a Holden dealer, and has never given me a moment's trouble.

COULD you advise the best place to sell and what price I could expect for a 1970 Holden Torana SL four-door sedan? It has travelled 59,000km, is registered with original plates and insured for $5000. There is some ``mileage'' visible on the bodywork; however, the interior and indeed most of the car is in as original condition as you could hope for, including Nasco mud flaps, 2250 petrol cap and the original spare tyre. Radials were fitted for safety. It has the 2250cu cm motor, bucket seats and column gearshift.

WE HAVE a 1995 Peugeot 405 that we had planned to trade in, but the dealer would not accept our car because there is no compliance plate on it. We don't know why. We bought the car new and it has not been in a crash. VicRoads was unable to help. Do you have any suggestions?

WE HAVE a 2004 Astra CD hatch that has done about 45,000km. It's been serviced regularly and has had no problems. We want to trade it in for a demo-model Toyota Camry. Is a trade-in of $13,000-$14,000 reasonable?

I BOUGHT a 1990 model Toyota SX Celica that has clocked up a mere 23,500km and is in excellent condition. As I am semi-retired, I am finding it difficult to rely on taxis and public transport in order to keep my car's mileage down, so I must reluctantly consider selling it. I would be grateful if you could give me a possible value and guidance about the best way to sell it to realise its full market potential.

WE OWN a 2004 Mazda 3 Max Sport auto. It has 50,000km on the clock. My wife travels 3500-4000km a month while working. When would be the best time to trade? By the time it is three years old, the car will have done more than 100,000km. I've heard that once a vehicle has done more than 100,000km, its value decreases rapidly.

WHAT would be the most realistic decision regarding our 1996 Daewoo Cielo GL 3-door hatchback automatic? It has a little more than 76,000km on the clock and we don't know whether to trade it in now or keep it for the time being. We don't do a great deal of driving, and it has been very reliable.

I WISH to sell my mother's car and think it is something of a special case, being worth more than normal market price. It is a 1990 Toyota Cressida Grande in immaculate condition, with new tyres and battery and only 50,000km on the clock. Could you give me a valuation and tell me the best way to market it?
